Meet Lily

As a young girl obsessed with animals Lily was very lucky to grow up with her family amongst a myriad of animals. This provided her with endless fun and experience, from whelping puppies and lambing to helping on the shoot, as well as competing in pony club events and attending agility classes with various breeds of family dogs.  Lily also enjoyed helping her Mother with her dog grooming business.

During college Lily decided to gain experience with all types of animals and went on to volunteer at the Seal Sanctuary in Cornwall for 3 weeks caring for grey seals, common seals, sealions, otters and penguins. She also volunteered at Marwell Zoological park for 2 years looking after antelope, zebra, rhinos, giraffe, tigers, snow leopards and cheetah. She then went on to volunteer Antelope Park, in Zimbabwe, at a lion research facility and worked alongside professionals in the field researching and monitoring lion conservation.

After completing a 2 year Foundation Degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at Oxford Brookes University, Lily then went on to complete her Bachelor Honors degree in Animal Management in 2014. 

With essential experience gained within her role of assistant manager at a South Oxfordshire kennels, Lily went on to a successful tenure as kennel manager. With two years of kennel management under her belt, Lily made the step up to a renowned kennel facility where she was able to not only manage a large team of staff but was also able to demonstrate her skill set, offering specialised training and support to dog handlers. 

Prior to fulfilling her life time ambition of setting up Lily Woodford Dog Training, Lily held the position as the Operations Manager at The Dogs Trust in Loughborough. There Lily looked after the welfare and care of up to 130 dogs including dogs on the specialist training and Behaviour unit.

Lily feels well placed and excited to continue helping people enjoy their dogs.
